Lymphatic Drainage is a very soft, subtle, rhythmic technique. It's considered to be a mini detox because it flushes the toxins and excess fluids back into the lymphatic system and into the cardiovascular system for removal out of the body. It has been proven beneficial for those suffering from swelling (cancer, post surgery, injuries), engorgement, fibromyalgia or those seeking to boost the immune system.
Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds bones, ligaments, tendons and muscles. When there are restrictions or adhesions, the fascia can pull or bind down tissue. This technique is generally applied before oil or lotion. It can feel like a burning or pinching sensation and may feel a little uncomfortable. Always let the therapist know if it is too much. Myofascial technique loosens the restrictions and thereby increases circulation and the natural glide between fibres that has been lost due to injury or poor posture.
(Dermo = skin, Neuro = nerve, Modulating = change) This is a structured, interactive approach to manual therapy that considers the nervous system of the client from skin cell to sense of self. Techniques are slow, light, kind, intelligent, responsive and effective.
